T: What is mixed fraction with example?

A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction. For example, if you have two whole apples and one half apple, you could describe this as 2 + ¹/2

A Mixed Fraction is a whole number and a proper fraction combined.

Converting Mixed Fractions to Improper Fractions

·         Multiply the whole number part by the fraction's denominator.

·         Add that to the numerator.

·         Then write the result on top of the denominator.

How do you turn a fraction into a mixed fraction?

Improper Fraction into Mixed Number

1.    Divide the numerator by the denominator. For Example: Convert 54 to mixed Number. ...

2.    Use the quotient as the whole number. in our example quotient is 1.

3.    Use the remainder as the numerator of the proper fraction. in our example remainder is 1.

4.    The denominator will stay the same.

Is 1 a proper fraction?

No! Proper fractions always lie between 0 and 1 and are never equal to 1. It means their Denominator is always greater than Numerator. But, in improper fraction denominator is less than or equal to numerator.
